English beef is selected from prime beef heard reared in the Lake District, the Eden Valley, the Lune Valley, the trough of Bowland and the Ribble Valley stretching to the edge of the dales. The beef is traditionally aged from 14 to 21 days. Once matured it will be butchered by ourselves to your individual specifications.
I heartedly recommend their corned beef and lamb’s liver. Although in the same dish it may be a bit risky!

English lamb, including Texel and Suffolk breeds, is sourced from assured farms throughout the lake district. The lambs are born and reared naturally using traditional farming methods to provide a consistent quality product. Such husbandry methods, combined with the local habitat, allows the lambs to roam freely and forage natural herbs and grasses. This imparts a wonderful flavour into the meat resulting in a delicate, sweet, juicy and tender product that has to be tasted to be believed.

Local Free Range Lamb (when in season): Leg of lamb, Boned leg of lamb, shoulder of lamb, Boned and Rolled shoulder of lamb, Lamb cutlets, Lamb loin chops, Lamb steak in mint.
Local Pork: Leg of pork, Shoulder of pork, Pork steaks, Belly pork.

English chickens: Whole fresh chickens, Half chickens, chicken breast, chicken legs, Chicken drumsticks, Chicken fillets.

Cured Products: Gammon, Back bacon, Middle bacon, Bacon chops, Streaky bacon.

Quality assured English pork is selected from our approved suppliers and their associated farms in Cumbria and Lancashire. The farmers take great pride and care in rearing their pigs maintaining all the animal welfare and quality standards of English pork, giving you, the customer succulent pork.
S&A Johnson Butchers stock a wide selection of sauces and condiments including specialised chutneys from Tracklements.

We also have a selection of locally sourced eggs, vegetables and potatoes.
